Dr. Maizel was the first retina specialist to practice in Lake County. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and interned at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia. He served his residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is a diplomate of both the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners, and his many endeavors include a Fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Diseases and Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine. He is board certified in Ophthalmology.
