  • Mid Florida Eye Center helped pioneer innovations in small-incision/no-stitch cataract surgery and implant technology, which are the gold standard of eye surgeons around the world.
  • Mid Florida Eye Center helped develop foldable lens implants, and become the first in Central Florida to introduce multi-focal implants that correct for distance and near vision.
  • Mid Florida Eye Center is among the first ophthalmology practices in Central Florida to introduce premium intraocular lenses for cataract patients.
  • Dr. Jeffrey Baumann and Dr. Gregory Panzo opened the area's first accredited outpatient surgery center specifically for eyes, (spotlighted among the best in the nation by Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today), and in 2008 opened the first eye surgery facility in The Villages.
